Do all products fit on my 'old' bike trailer?

No, due to the various frame adjustments over the years, not all spare parts we sell are compatible with every (second-hand) trailer still in circulation. You can still find Cyclone I or II models on second-hand sites. We are very proud that our trailers have such longevity; that is certainly our goal. However, it’s good to know how you can replace any potential issues or missing parts.

The two main points are:

1. For Cyclone I & II, the current hitch clamps and hitches do not fit. This is because, in these first two versions, the hitch clamp secures into the hitch (not into the frame). Since version III, the hitch clamp secures into the frame, preventing the play present in older versions. This also means the hitch clamp is shorter from this version onwards.

   This can be independently resolved by drilling through the hitch and using a long screw and nut to attach the hitch to your bike trailer (note: we cannot take any responsibility for this modification. We do not perform it ourselves, but it has helped many customers with Cyclone I or II models in recent years).

   There is also an option to purchase an Upgrade Kit for Cyclone II and III. You will receive a new Frame, Hitch (only for Cyclone II), Hitch Clamp (only for Cyclone II), and 2 Spacers for quick-release axles.

2. The Cyclone I has had different versions. In the very first Cyclone I, the wheels were secured with a pin and a split pin. For these trailers, it is not possible to resolve issues related to the wheels. Only a Cyclone Skeleton will suffice (you replace everything except the bag).

Radical Tip:

If your bike trailer is from 2012 (Cyclone III) or later, all current accessories will fit your frame!
